2002款福特雷鳥 ????梅斯1987年加盟福特,正好趕上負責(zé)雷鳥的復(fù)興,。這款車采用了復(fù)古未來主義的圓形大燈,,蛋箱式的進氣格柵和一個裝飾性的引擎蓋進氣口。但這些設(shè)計更像是拙劣的模仿,,而不是對經(jīng)典的致敬,,同時它基本沒怎么掩飾各種降低了這款車動力性能的妥協(xié)和削減成本的做法。它推出時,,梅斯曾宣稱:“這不是經(jīng)典車型應(yīng)有樣子的漫畫版,,它本身就是經(jīng)典車型?!彼@話說得太過頭了,。他本指望這款車能長期生產(chǎn)下去,但事與愿違,,這車的新奇設(shè)計造成的吸引力很快就煙消云散,,三年后這輛雷鳥就折翼停產(chǎn)了。 |
2002 Ford Thunderbird ????Mays joined Ford in 1987, in time to oversee the attempt to revive the Thunderbird. The use of retro-futuristic round headlights, egg-crate grille, and a decorative hood scoop seemed more parody than homage, and did little to disguise the compromises and cost-cutting that undermined the dynamics of the car. At the launch, Mays declared, "It's not a caricature of what a classic should be. It is a classic automobile." He protested too much. Instead of the long production run he expected, its novelty appeal was quickly exhausted, and the T'bird had its wings clipped three years later. |
